Why I created this website...

I created this site for my Freshman Project. Let me begin as to how I got here...

My name is Drew, and I am in 9th grade, and go to Junior High in Washington State. (Keeping full name and school for confidential reasons). This Freshman project is required to pass the 9th grade and to graduate from High School. This project is called "Breakout". This website is part of "Making a Difference" which has to help out the community in some positive way. I am here to inform people the positive aspects of Rock N' Roll, the negative aspects, and what/how it can be fixed. Much of this is explained in my Research Paper:

"Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" sung by AC/DC, that statement is
disagreed by others, and that is commonly misconceived, and some
people need to realize that isn't the case. Rock isn't blaring
annoying sound that drunken stoners listen to. It's a misconception, a
stereotype. AC/DC is an excellent example; they are a bunch of
longhaired rockers who play rock. They create songs like "Hell's
Bells", but its not about hell, and how life is going bad, it's about
how life could be worse, like the cup is half full. If one perceives this music with a pesemistic view, it tears the real effect of this music away.
Rock has a large effect on the world's community. Teens are greatly
affected, and large among the stereotypes. Their attitude can be
changed. Some cases they can be disrespectful, and in others it can
put them in a good mood. Their reactions can change. Adults are also
affected. Sometimes their lifestyle changes, whether all the hard
partying makes them drug/alcohol addicts, or its what gives them a
positive outlook on life. The general community is also affected.
It can bring financial change. Such as concerts, being held, and bring
a specific place some fame. For example, out of Seattle came a large
amount of bands during the 80's/90's. It exploded with a new genre
called "Grunge." It put Seattle and these newfound bands in the
spotlight. Beneficial fame and fortune. The general effect is usually a positive outcome with the majoriy of people in most of society.
Rock's history contains a lot of changes. Originated from jazz and
blues, it has evolved into what it is today. There isn't too much
blues base in today's modern rock, mostly containing intricate riffs,
and difficult strum patterns. Influential bands, that created a
turning point is also important. These include bands such as; Elvis,
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, etc. The present
contains not as many influential bands as a few decades ago. Is the
future perceived as rock changing, how many people think this way? How
will today influence tomorrow? Some look at the history of Rock N' Roll, and create a stereotype; the past was bad, so it has to be a negative type of music.
Rock and Roll provides benefits, outside of the generalization of rock
music. Mentally, rock can help succeed. For example, creating music is
proven to increase intelligence, or playing an instrument. Being good
at making music is an outcome of intelligence. One may also be able to
understand same concepts of rock. Rock and Roll can also provide
emotional benefits. Hearing or playing the extraordinary music can
make one's self feel great happiness, or great self esteem. Or come to
a mental realization from the message. And for the few that are lucky,
can get a financial benefit. Become famous, and strike it rich and be
financially secure for the rest of their life. Outside a personal benefit, the community gets something out of it. The music, our society gains the satisfaction of great music. Listen to it, and rock out.
The community is consumed by Rock and Roll as well, whether it's
visible or not. Effects, positive and negative. First off, the
negative effects. Drugs and alcohol end to be largely connected to
Rock and Roll, some say. Just about every famous band did drugs, and
drank alcohol. For example, the Rolling Stones, they were addicts back
in the day, and how they are feeling the major effects of those drugs
and alcohol today. Sometimes violence can occur. Most often seen
during concerts. For example, when Dimebag Darrell was assassinated
during the Pandera concert. The music itself doesn't necessarily
create the violence, but the atmosphere it's in. So hence Rock music
and violence can be indirectly related. On the other hand, there are
the positive aspects among the community. The first reason that rock
was made, or music in general, was for entertainment. It connects this
part of the community. Community is also connected through influence.
Many famous bands and famous singers, or leaders of a band greatly
inspire others to create their own music, or even to do their own
good.
Rock music puts out a large message to the community. The positive
message is a good thing for the rock and roll citizens. These messages
are put out through songs, and a band's image. Whether these messages
are intentionally put out there for everyone to hear, or internal
messages, or even some that are their that the composers didn't
intentionally put in there. Or even the message that the general rock
community can put out there. There is also the negative side, how is
it put out there? The negative thoughts in songs, or once again, the
band's image. Even if the band didn't put it in there intentionally,
others see it, with the large community someone is bound to pick up on
something of this sort. Miscommunication can also be a big part of the
problem, the message is perceived in the wrong way, or misinterpreted.
Most times, the community can put it to rest, in one way or another. Sometimes in a very complicated manner, or simple enough that most don't even realize what happened.
In general, Rock N' Roll is possibly the greatest broad genre of music. It has the positive aspects, and also the negative. Many would agree, that the positive outweighs the negative. The stereotypes who perceive Rock as that "devil music", some would say, aren't seeing the full picture. As stated before, "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution."

This IS a rough draft, not the final draft. I will post my final draft later.
